Sir,

Once again, I am so sorry to hear of your father’s death. I really enjoyed the time I had to speak with him last January. I have listened to his interview again and I am struck by what an incredible battlefield leader he must have been. I really wanted to interview him again because I felt that we had only recorded a small portion of his story. I really wanted to hear more so I could understand how truly inspirational he was to his subordinates. I understand that he was seen as a true leader, not only to the Army of the Republic of Vietnam, but also to leaders in the United States Army as evidenced by the awards he received. Another thing that stood out to me was the pride he felt from being commissioned through Da Lat and the pride he had in his family.

Once again, please accept my condolences.
